Maybe to some people, a job is just a job. But not Linda K. Jordan. The owner and operator of L.K. Jordan & Associates, a professional staffing agency headquartered in Corpus Christi with offices throughout the state of Texas, Jordan said the concept of “work” is much more personal and critical to the needs of person.
“I started this business really quite by accident,” Jordan said. “I knew that this is what I wanted to do because career placement - it’s a very positive thing. You are really helping people to change their lives. A job is such a personal thing, and finding the right job for someone can truly make a positive impact and a positive difference in a life.”
For her entrepreneurial spirit over 20 years ago that continues to fuel the high standards of their approach to career placement, L.K. Jordan & Associates are named the Outstanding Business in Uptown, Downtown and Central Corpus Christi.
Jordan said her company revolves around a philosophy of fairness and treating everyone with dignity and respect when dealing with both employers and applicants.
“I always tell our team, ‘Treat other people like you want to be treated,’” Jordan said. “Our core staff always needs to understand that all of those employees in the field - they are what make us a good company. We need to treat them right or they are not going to continue to work for us and extend our good reputation in the business community.”
L.K. Jordan & Associates places employees in jobs in several fields all over the state. The company operates branch offices in cities like Austin, San Antonio and Houston. As an organization, the team has made a commitment to supporting several non-profit groups with both time and money.
“Everybody in the company is really excited. It’s definitely a matter of pride for us,” Jordan said. “In our industry, we recognize individuals a lot of the time. You are high performers, great sales people, great recruiters. But this is a company, and this is the whole team. We as a company were nominated, and we are winning this as a team. And that makes us the most proud.”
